Nad Modrim i Crvenim

Above the Blue and Red Lakes (24.2 km, approximately 2 hours):The route, named after the most famous gems of Imotska Krajina – the Blue and Red Lakes – begins in the city center at the so-called “Old Bus Station”, i.e. Dr. Franjo Tuđman Square. Continuing through the main city street – Stjepan Radić Promenade – it reaches Put Gaja road towards Posušje, where it turns left beneath the Džardina sinkholes and continues onto a gravel road above the Blue and Red Lakes.

After returning to the paved climb above the Red Lake and passing the school in the Brlog area of Gornji Proložac, the route follows another gravel descent, which is partly more technically demanding, but rewards riders with beautiful views of Imotsko Polje, the Badnjevice canyon, and the Biokovo and Zavelim mountains. The further descent through the vineyard along the “Old Roman Road” leads the route into the Badnjevice canyon, after which a combination of asphalt and gravel roads continues towards the archaeological site of Opačac (a medieval Franciscan monastery) and the “Church of Our Lady”, i.e. the small Church of St. Mary. The route then passes through the Perinuša mill complex and, via a gravel country road, reaches the paved climb through Glavina Donja. Finally, it returns to the starting point along the longest city street.
